Gang Warfare

This just in! Gang Warfare, a Source mod, has been announced. It is being created by Axe, Lt. Sandgoose, HeavyWeaponsGuy, and Fatehehhhh. It centers around two groups (the Skullz and a currently undetermined group) as they fight to the death, similar to the Blood and Crip rivalry.

That's all the information we have for now, other than the fact that there will be a closed beta... sometime before 3,000 AD. Everyone on FFOD that has a Source game in their Steam account (free versions of HL2:DM/Lost Coast, Alien Swarm, and Portal are not applicable for this requirement) is free to participate. I will update this topic when more information becomes de-classified.

I'm not sure if L4D2 is a source game but I will have TF2 by Thanksgiving

L4D2 is a Source game, so anyone with the following games is fine:

Half-Life: Source
HL2 and HL2: EP1/2
TF2
L4D1 or 2
Portal 1 or 2 (once it comes out, of course.)
Counter-Strike: Source
Day of Defeat: Source

Hello people of FFoD, this is Lt. Sandgoose, Idea Guy and Lead Skinner for Gang Warfare, at least until we find somebody better. Fate told me to make an account here, so I did so, and I'll try to keep you updated with skins and whatnot, but right now, we NEED ideas for a second team/gang, and don't just say something like "LOL THEY SHOULD BE RED," we need something original.

Hmmmm, original, how about having each team have different weapon skins?

That's a good idea, but before we do that we need a theme for the other team/gang. Anybody got any ideas?

Axe, nobody said we have to make an outrageously awesome skin. We can just put a Skull on Skullz weapons and whatnot.

Do you have any idea how hard it is to make multiple weapon skins in C++?

Also, is steam having connection problems for you too?

Mine is fine but a friend of mine is going on and off

Moving on past the subject of Steam going kaput, any ideas yet?

The second gang should be blacks (no intended racism) but they need a name.

The Skulls are black, we need a gang filled with psychotic clowns.

I was thinking more along the lines of stereotypical gangsters. You know, pants down low, baseball caps sideways, etc.

We have semi-decided on a second gang: Las Aves de Presa (The Birds of Prey), a stereotypical mexican gang who make puns about birds when they dominate somebody. Skins in progress.

If you guys are going doing L4D2 I know what you can do
Normal zombie: Random Gang member
Smoker: Guy with chain
Spitter: Hooker that spits STDs
Boomer: Fat guy with spray paint(The paint can explodes killing the guy and spreading paint everywhere
Jockey: Crackhead
Tank: Guy on steroids
Charger: ....Dunno
Hunter: Heroin addict?

Um, no. We're not modifying one specific game. We're making a game out of the Source Engine.

Oooooh, when you were talking about the crack medic I was thinking you were editing TF2

Update: We're not doing it as a sourcemod until we get more practice under our belt. We're programming it as a lua gamemode in gmod, and we're going to try our best to keep everything we've made so far, including maps and skins.
