Re: nintendo makes me sad
The main problem is that their entire stable is based on nostalgia. As far as I could tell, Nintendo didn't debut a single IP at their press conference.
Re: nintendo makes me sad
that because they didn't nintendo needs to be creative again and stop catering to the damn casual gamers i mean im not an elitist but still i want mah damn games to be challenging sometimes.

Pfft. Have you seen the Kinect and Move? With those headlining their overall game lineup, they're both moving deeper and deeper into casual territory... Personally, I think it's way too deep.

Exactly. Worse still, neither of them really have any hardcore series to fall back on. Since PS3 is gonna get that Sony All-Stars game thing or whatever soon, they're in better shape than Microsoft, where Reach is likely the last Halo game. Who knows, though.
And the entire Nintendo line-up is pretty much the 80's, at this point.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 came out recently. Skyward Sword, Kirby: Epic Yarn, new DK game, new Goldeneye, new Kid Icarus, new... other crap >_>... seems like a lot of hardcore shizz is coming out soon.
And not a single casual first party Wii game in sight.
Meanwhile, sloooowwww Sony and Microsoft are going to realize casual overtones are bad for sales. A year and a half after Nintendo realized it.

(Halo isn't the last Halo game. 343 Industries, a company internally controlled by Microsoft, is taking control of the series while Bungie goes off to work with Activision.)
Exactly. When are game developers going to realize that even if a game is geared towards casual gamers, the odds are that they don't have a console outside of the Wii at this point? (Especially PS3. As far as I can tell, that console hasn't even gotten a single well-promoted casual game.)

Yeah, that too. You don't associate "casual" with PS3 or 360.
Sure, they're control systems MIGHT turn out to be less glitchy. But I can see a few problems:
-With the Move, there doesn't appear to be any straps on it or anything (could be wrong though), and the movement is apparently one-to-one. If people had TV problems from throwing their Wii Remote into the screen, you can bet the same will happen with the Move, except instead of a standard, maybe not even hi-def TV, you'll have just broken your $5000 HD-3D TV that the PS3 is apparently supposed to be compatible with.
-Kinect is cool and all, but you can't really get into feeling it as much since there's no controller. >_> It might have either really good or really bad sensitivity for the same reason.
