Nocturne

Temple - Interior

"Aye." He pulls the file up and scans it really quickly. He instantly takes the alternate path down into the lower level... "Traps, you said?" He rolled right as he took the last step, triggering a crush block trap, allowing the block to smash right behind him, his tail only a hairsbreadth from getting caught... "Come at your leisure, babe. Or, I can go through, grab the shard, and then come back, and you can stay here. Up to you." He said, waiting on the other side of the now reset trap.

Temple - Interior

"Stay here? In this dark, dirty hole? I'll stay with you, thanks..." Geneva drifts down the steps, careful to hover rather than walk, so she doesn't trigger something. She might be an artificial replica of a Dij, but if she was scrambled, she wouldn't be coming back...

Across the room are similar, randomly placed traps, crush blocks, arrow traps, and the like. However, at the end of the room, as it narrow into a hallway, stands an idol. It looks like a snake coiled around a pillar, its mouth open and facing towards the two.

Temple - Interior

Finar smiles, "Of course." He says, dodging back and forth between the traps. As he goes through, he screws up at gets hit by an Arrow, right in the arm. With a cringe, and a roll, he makes it to the end, in pain... "Oh, it's nothing... I.. uhm.. Yeah.." He closes his eyes, takes a deep breath, and rips it out in one go. "All good... "He cringes and takes a bit of cloth out of his pocket and wraps it... He puts on a fake smile and looks down the hall.. "Oh, wonderful... The classic Idol trap." He walks down the hall, waiting for a reaction, and goes to take it, just touching it.

Temple - Interior

Geneva drifts behind Finar, making sure to follow his path so she doesn't trigger anything else. She examines Finar's wound, but decides not to patch it up in the field.

The idol doesn't budge, but it's flash open as a grating voice fills the room. "If access you require, then conquer these trials three. Your fate may be dire, but bountiful the treasures shall be." The idol moves forward and out of the hallway, giving them access.

"... well, that was melodramatic."

Temple - First of Three Trials

Finar grunted and motioned for Geneva to follow as he moved along, his arm still bleeding slightly. He moved into the next room and looked around, waiting for Geneva to catch up... "Melodramatic was right..." He grunted, producing a small blade from his jacket.

The next room seems to have nothing in it. A blank, cube with the only exist being a door on the other side. Geneva looks around, scoffing. "THIS is a trial? Just opening a door? THere's no energy here at all..."

Finar looked down the room, up and down, trying to see anything odd about it, only to simply huff in frustration. "Small, cubical room, and a door on the other side... Nothing else in, or around." He frowned and took a flash grenade off of one of his pockets. He armed it, with an extra long fuse, and gently rolled it across the room to see what happened... And, of course, shielded Geneva from the flash that happened shortly after, depending on what happened next.

As the noise and flash die out... there's nothing. Still just a door on the other side. "... Maybe we just try opening the door." Geneva floats over to it, staring at the door with a bit of apprehension. Most likely, something very... 'challenging' would happen when they tried to open the door...

Finar growled. He just wanted to spring the trap, without having to put himself into danger.. Ah, well... He walked over to the door, simply put, and opened it. Though, he seemed to not be worried at all about the situation, his heart raced a million miles a minute.

The door appears to be locked. As Finar grips the handle, the key drops down from the ceiling, dangling over the hallway they came from. But of course, it can't be that easy... The walls sprout spike, set apart from each in equal intervals, too close to contort around. The walls begin moving towards each other, to impale the two on the spikes.

"Of course... it must be mechanical, so I wouldn't have detected it..." She quickly floats over to the key, and grabs it, but her hand passes through it. "What?" She waves her hand through the key, but it she can't 'touch' it. "What the hell!?"

Finar banged his hand on the door and doubled back down the hallway and towards the key as fast as he could, weary of the spikes set on the wall. "It's one of those things where, if you didn't touch it, you cant get it." He rolls and grabs the key, trying to recover from his roll, Key (Hopefully, if there's nothing else to this.) in hand.

Geneva nods at Finar, and then rushes toward the door.

Finar opens the door with said key.

Trial of Strength

The door opens quietly, and the two slip through the door before it closes behind them. This next room has a small orb on a pedestal, and a statue that looks like a miniature Abyss. The mouth is open and pointed upwards, while the tentacles twist around themselves a bit before diving into the ground.

"Oh my god... what was this, amateur night?"

Trial of Strength

Finar glares at the statue, reminicing about the time he fought Abyss and Genesis. He shook his head and sighed. "Let's see.. My guess is that those tentacles are going to pop out and attack me once I get near that Orb. That Orb, however, is probably the way to stop it. Now, what to do with said Orb is the question... Perhaps put the Orb into Abyss' mouth?" He said, finishing his observation. He walked over to the orb and grabbed it in his hand, waiting for something to spring, and attack him.

... ... ... "So much for that theory..."

Finar glares back at Geneva and shakes his head. "You think?" He places the orb in Abyss' mouth and sits back. "I mean, honestly. What am I supposed to do?"

The door swings open.
"... this can't be right... it's too... simple."

Finar shook his head. "Impossible..." He waited for something to happen for a second and then dashed through the door, running at full speed.

Trial of Strength

"Hey! Wait up!" Geneva moved forward to follow Finar, and then stopped, gasping. "..." Turning slowly, she saw Finar standing in front of her. The orb reappears in a small flash, and additional tentacles reach out from the statue, also diving into the ground.

Finar blinks, looking around... "Did I just...?" He looks back at Geneva, and at the Statue, and the Orb. "How?" Finar took the Orb again, and placed it in Abyss' mouth, again, and waited for the door, again. I mean, really?

The door swings open once more. It shows a short hallway, leading to another door. Just like last time. "Maybe it's just something to rattle you?" Geneva drifts toward the door, waiting for Finar.

Finar sighed, and shook his head. He looked down the hallway, and huffed. "Well, it either goes on until I just get peeved off, or that statue has something to do with it... " He said, looking back at the Statue... He moved into the next room anyways, and looked carefully at the statue of Abyss... "Tentacles going into the ground... Perhaps it's to see how much strength I have, to lift it?" He said, going to try and do so.. He grew tired of such silly tasks..

You lucky son of a bitch...

After a bit of resistance, the tentacle releases, and slides back into the statue. As it moves, purple mist falls off it, rising into the air...

"You're good at this, Finar... let's hope it's not the only thing. "

Finar grins, and goes ahead and walks into the next room, "That, I can assure you, you'll never have to worry about." He walked into this next room, paying no attention to the mist thingy. He hoped it wasn't important.
